Danielle Grufferty - candidate for Guild President

Pictured in the photo above is Dannielle Grufferty (3rd from left in the photo). She is currently standing for Guild of Students (student union) president at the University of Liverpool in the elections from March 5th to March 7th 2008. The photo is taken at Woodchurch Leisure Centre with the Prime Minister and Danielle is in a group of known members of the Labour party and Labour supporting students.
It raises some interesting questions. Is Dannielle Grufferty too close to Labour, or am I jumping to conclusions?
What are her political views and will they affect her priorities after election (eg on tuition fees)? Whereas her views on refugees etc are well known; her views on other public policy areas are less so. Did Gordon Brown not graduate himself in 1972, at a time when he didn't have to pay tuition fees. Why did Labour bring in this controversial policy which has led to a lower number of applications to university from people from a lower socioeconomic class?
I have confidence in Danielle to keep politics out of the campaign she's running (as I feel she is trying to do) and treat students of every political persuasion equally.
